Pretty Edition Wishlist

Those of you who know me at all, know that I love me some pretty books. I especially like collecting pretty editions of books I've already read and adored. I thought I would share with you the ones currently on my want list. All of these are gorgeous but most of them I've been putting off buying for some time now since it's much easier to justify purchasing a new book you've never read, rather than one you have, only in a more appealing design. *sighs* Well, here goes.

Mary Poppins by P.L Travers

 

This beautiful hardcover is from Wadsworth Publishing Co Inc and ideally, I would like the entire series in these stunning editions. So pretty!

I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith

From the first time I read I Capture the Castle, I've been looking for a pretty edition. This one from  Bodley Head Children's Books isn't ideal but it's certainly the best I've found so far. Now I just need to decide if I should eventually fork out the $$$ for this of wait for something more to my specific tastes. hmmm

Rebecca by Daphne de Maurier

Ever since I first heard about Rebecca, this is the edition from Orion that I wanted. I think it's absolutely gorgeous! The only problem is it seems to be out of print and I can't find it anywhere. Makes me miserable. This book needs to find a place on my shelves.

The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien

I've wanted a hardcover edition of The Hobbit for some time now and there are many pretty editions on the market but I think the one I want most is this lovely copy from HarperCollins.

Vanity Fair by William Makepeace Thackeray

This is a book that I actually haven't read yet but if any edition is going to inspire me to do so, it's this one from Four Corners Books. Such a beautiful object! And from what I've seen the illustrations inside are beautiful as well. This book will be mine. Sooner or later.

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

I keep seeing this hilarious P&P edition floating about. I love the vintage inspired pulp fiction cover and the fact that they used Colin Firth's Mr Darcy for inspiration. Brilliant idea, Pulp! The Classics. You did good.

Well that's it for now. There are plenty of other titles I have my greedy little eyes on but these are currently at the top of my list. What pretty books are you currently lusting after?

All in good time

Time for a reboot of this here blog. I originally created this old thing at the same time as my Youtube channel. I always intended to run them along side each other but YT was just so all encompassing (and, lets face it, a little intimidating) that I decided to let my blog languish while I focused on my videos and figured out how the Booktube community worked. It's getting close to 2 years later and I love working on my Youtube channel more than I ever would have thought possible. I love turning on my camera and talking to all of the wonderful bookworms I've found along the way but now I'm definitely ready to start blogging again. I was planning on starting back up in the new year but why wait a month when I could be doing it right now? No reason I could see. So here I am, happy to include yet another way to talk to you all about books in my weekly schedule!
